Hubby and I were watching our TVB series and suddenly hubby asked 'Should we go Bangkok for a short trip to shop and massage?' The first question I asked was, are we bringing Kelly? Hubby gave me a definite NO!
We are there partly to breakaway, enjoy the massage, the food and of course the cheap shopping but a more important mission is to prepare for our upcoming business. For those who are curious, be sure that I will update you once we are ready for our first customer!
Other than missing our 2 princesses daily, our time was spent totally on 买东西,吃东西,买东西,吃东西 and massage.
There were a few basic things that you got to do in Bangkok, else how can you say you had been to Amazing Thailand?
Our first stop was this roadside fruit stall, we bought the famous thai mango!
After checking in, we took the local tuk-tuk to Platinum Centre for food and to do some shopping! The first ride was a real challenge, I thought that I might be flung onto the road but who knows, we reached our destination safe and sound, most importantly, in 1 piece and still sitting in the tuk-tuk. The subsequent rides were easier, doesn't seems so dangerous.
Our first meal was the tomyum ramen in a Japanese restaurant...
After lunner (lunch+dinner), we went to Platinum centre for the cheap wholesale clothing. Some of the places were already in Christmas mood with decorations everywhere.
We were surprised that Platinum centre closes so early at 1900hrs. By 2000hrs, everyone was supposed to be out of the building. This left us enough time to go to Suan-Lum Night market. The market was really huge, with nothing less than 500 stalls. We found some really useful stuffs from the market. We packed some hawker food before going back to the hotel and by the time we reached our room, it was 0030hrs but it did not stopped us from calling for in-room massage.
Knowing that MBK opens at 1000hrs daily, we had a casual breakfast and took a slow walk to MBK. We were amazed by the renovated MBK, its so much cleaner and nicer now. The things were relatively different from what was offered at Platinum centre. Of course our pocket was not spared in the centre.
Our lunch was Sukisushi (Sukiyaki + Sushi) Buffet in this Japanese restaurant. The serving varieties was good and the price was also reasonable.
Along the road, it was not difficult to see hawker selling local food, ranging from grilled fish, fresh fruits, sweet potato, corn to almost everything. Due to hygiene reasons, we did not patrol any of the roadside hawker.
After our foot massage, we were recommended to a local zi char stall. Seeing that the place was clean and the crowd was decent, we decided to give it a try. We had the tomyum fried fish, fried pork belly, vegetables and on top of that, we still ordered another fried snapper for takeaway, that is for supper in the room!
