Family bonding time

Kerryn is 5 days old today but the way she interact with us is as if she is much older. She shows lots of expression and her milk intake is definitely not a 5 days old volume.

At evening time, we will usually bring Kerryn into our room if she is awake to talk and play with her. It is also a family bonding time.

Mummy and Kerryn...

Kelly has so far shown no sign of jealousy. She helps with bringing milk to meimei, watching meimei shower, always going into meimei's room to see meimei, etc. We are happy and satisfied with her behaviour so far. Good job Kelly!

Kelly tasted BM again

After pestering for milk milk for the 2nd day, Mummy gave in to Kelly, actually hoping that after she tried, she might find it too fishy or bland and decided that her Mamil Gold tastes better. Mummy gave Kelly 20ml of colostrum to drink, she was so happy that she went around the whole house showing everyone her milk before settling down to drink.

Kelly drinking BM after totally cut off since 1 years old...

To my surprise, Kelly likes the BM and kept asking for more after she finished. She even cried when she finished the BM. Mummy was thinking, if I am to pump enough for Kerryn and Kelly, isn't that liked having TWIN!!!

Notice the tears rolling down her left eye!

Kerryn is going home

It was finally time to go home after out 4 days 3 nights TMC holiday and we are going home with an additional member, what a wonderful feeling!

Bb Kerryn was all dressed up early in the morning ready for discharged but due to the high admission rate these few days, the bill did not come till near 12pm. At the meantime, bb Kerryn stayed with Mummy in the ward waiting for Daddy and Kelly to arrive.

TMC baby all ready to go home!

When the bill finally came, Daddy and Kelly went down to the cashier to make payment while Mummy and bb Kerryn waited at the lobby area.

Bb Kerryn must be tired of all the waiting!

When Kelly came up, she couldn't help but wanted to carry, hug and kiss meimei. It was nice to see that Kelly loves meimei.

No carry but only hugs and kisses!

Back at home, bb Kerryn slept through the afternoon while Mummy settled down for lunch. Mummy bought an Elmo few days before delivery, this was meant to be a present from meimei to jiejie, Kelly was overjoyed when she received the Elmo.
Kerryn sleeping with Elmo, waiting for jiejie to notice...

Kelly finally saw the Elmo after lunch!

Mummy's milk factory start production after lunch. I had decided to be disciplined this time round, that is to pump every 3 hourly regardless of anything. This will prevent engorgement and also to have more excess for storage. Mummy's first yield was 110ml of colostrum, considered very good since Mummy only delivered 3 days ago.
110ml of colostrum!

When Kelly saw Mummy with the milk bottles, she knew its milk and she insisted on drinking, but since its still colostrum, Mummy did not gave her any as meimei needs it more than jiejie.

Kelly curious with the 2 bottles of colostrum!
Kerryn has been a good girl so far since birth, she only drink and sleep, not much crying from her yet (keep our fingers crossed).
Slowly falling asleep after milk feed!

Kerryn's day 3

At day 3, bb Kerryn was already able to suckle well but the problem is, she likes to fall asleep while BF, causing engorgement on Mummy's breasts.
Cuddling bb Kerryn after BF...

Mummy usually leaves Kerryn on the bed for a while and see if she will wakes up soon for another feed before bringing her back to the nursery. True enough, she wakes up after half an hour looking for milk again.
Bb Kerryn after her nap...

To solve the problem of engorgement, Mummy got Daddy to bring the manual breast pump to hospital so that Mummy can pump out the excess BM or to be specific, Colostrum for night feed. Mummy managed to pump out 20ml of colostrum after each feed and that makes 40ml for night feed.
Colostrum or mango juice?
Today was a crowded day, we had 3 mummies and 1 soon-to-be mummy at TMC. Along with Mummy, Aunty Coolzy gave birth on the same day, Aunty Veron gave birth to bb Caitlyne today and Aunty Fengping who is still carrying her baby came to visit us. What a nice gathering!

Kerryn's day 2 and Aunty Marie's visit

Although the process of c-sect was terrible and traumatising, but after looking at bb Kerryn, the pain and agony just simply disappeared.

Only 2 days old, but bb Kerryn seems to be so interactive and curious most of the time. She normally falls asleep after breastfeeding and Mummy will place her on the bed and we will nap together for a good 1 hour, even the nurse laughed when she came to fetch bb Kerryn back.

Everyone who saw bb Kerryn commented that she does not look like a newborn and her skin is rosy red, just like Kelly. I think she will grow up to be like Kelly, having a smooth, fair complexion

Bb Kerryn looking around curiously.
Aunty Marie came to TMC to fetch bb Xander home as he was hospitalised for jaundice for the past 2 days. They dropped by after fetching bb Xander, it was nice to see friends at TMC because 4 days is really a long long time.

Thanks to my brother's miracle powder, Mummy was able to get out of bed and walk the very next day after c-sect. The nurses were all surprised when they knew Mummy only have c-sect yesterday.
Enjoying dinner on the chair!
