O.R.D Parade

Today marks an important day in Uncle Fraddys life, its his Operationally Ready Date (ORD). It is the first time Mummy is being invited to attend an ORD Parade. I hesitated for a long time even till just before we leave office whether to attend or not coz the NDP that i attended many years back really freak me out, the place is crowded, the weather is hot, the seat is uncomfy, etc, ORD Parade should be somehow similar. Anyway, Mummy, Uncle Quan and Auntie Xinyi still make our way to Hendon Camp to celebrate this important day with Uncle Fraddy. Thou the request to bring Kelly is overwhelming, Mummy still decided not to bring her along due to the crazy weather and it turns out to be a wise choice.

After the event, we travel to Changi Village for a big feast.

Labour Day!

Labour Day means outing for Kelly!!! She enjoys going out so much that whenever she see Mummy and Daddy dressed, she will walk towards the door and wait. It is hard to get out of the house without her nowadays.

Early in the morning, we travel to JB for breakfast before going to Gong Gongs place. Kelly enjoys going to Gong Gongs place coz there are birds, flowers, swimming pool and lots of spaces for her to go around especially now she learn how to walk.

Daddys Birthday

Mummy woke up in the morning giving Daddy a big birthday kiss and shortly, Kelly also wakes up and gave Daddy a super duper big smile with eyes half open. Our schedule today is very pack as we have to go eat breakfast, then buffet lunch at Vienna and lastly the most important one, ai xin mee sua dinner.

Kelly now goes out without sitting on high chair, all she need is a chair with back rest. She sit on her own throughout the whole lunch enjoying the strawberry that the waiter gave her on her right hand and the super giant asparagus on her left hand, what a healthy diet she has!

Mummy takes oyster for the 1st time!

In between, she takes salmon and chicken terranyaki, mini buddha jump over the wall and her favorite cheese cake. She end her meal with a nice bread stick coated with white and black sesame seeds and baby juices (Kelly knows how to suck from the straw on first attempt). Mummy is so fascinated by the bread stick and ask the manager for where to buy and naturally we proceed to get the breadstick and other stuffs after lunch.

Our next stop is Guan Yin Temple at Si Ma Lu. It is a must visit place on everyones birthday, to pray for health, wealth and knowledge, no exception for Daddy!

Dinner is the worst part of the day for Daddy coz he believes that mee sua is for people who are sick. This will means that Mummy got to put in not double but triple effort to make the mee sua taste and look good so that Daddy will eat.

Exactly 365 days ago, an angel came into our live. Watching her grow from a delicate pea size heartbeat to a 79cm tall girl. From birth where she got to depend on us to do everything for her, till now, she can crawl, squat, walk, hold her own bottle, put biscuit/bread into her mouth, talk her own language and of course call mama mama. It is amazing how much joy our little precious has brought us in the past 1 year and years to come.


On this special day, Kelly gets to eat yummy spinach porridge with fried chicken, delicious! She gets to try a new food or should be a new fruit today, DURIAN!!! She don't really like it but Mummy will try giving her again as it is one of our favorite fruit and we want to indulge with her every durian season.

The session that most kids enjoy - presents opening!!! Kelly loves ripping colorful wrappers off and putting it into her mouth. She is so busy with tearing, admiring, hugging and throwing presents around.

1st Birthday Bash

Mummy and Daddy are busy preparing for Kellys 1st birthday party. We run around in the past few days to make sure that we have everything that we need, from decorations, party pack to food. To give the little friends something special, Mummy bought a sunflower that wrote 'frenz 4eva' and each one is customised with Kellys and her frens name, how sweet can that be!

The party starts at 4pm with Mummys and Kellys friends arriving. The children had some bread, snacks and mingle with one another, it is so much easier to bring them out now.

At 7pm, we sing Kelly her first birthday song, afterwhich most of her friends left home for dinner. Daddys friends arrive after 7pm and we stay to BBQ till midnight, tiring but fun. Mummy and Daddy still love to BBQ as much as before our precious Kelly comes along.

We want to thank Auntie Xinyi for putting in so much effort to paint a castle banner for Princess Kelly and Uncle Quan for the pretty balloon setup, all Kellys friends like the pink and white balloons.

Ernest Birthday Party

Kelly is one of the eldest Jiejie among her friends but the 1st birthday party is held by Ernest coz Auntie Jesmine wanted to celebrate the Lunar birthday. Only Kelly and Mummy attended the party as Daddy is busy. Ernest looks so smart in his white and red outfit.

We met up with Auntie Ginette and Maishia whom we have not seen for a long time, Maishia did not change much except she is off her hat . Auntie Cassandra and Tess arrived shortly after us, Tess has put on so much weight since the last time we saw her and she look sooooo cute now. Auntie Jeanelle and Faith arrived with Faith sleeping, again. Auntie Cynthia and Cherelle were there too.

Lunar Birthday

It's a Chinese tradition to eat Mee suah with 2 eggs, drumstick and vegetables on Lunar Birthday. Don't know what it means but the preparation and cooking part is fun. I guess by 1 year old, Kelly is less restrictive with food.

After so many attempts, i finally managed to capture Kelly walking in action. Remember the first time i see her flip, I couldn't wait for her to roll then to sit and crawl. Now she learn to mumble and walk, soon she will learn to talk and walk, then run.That's how fast a baby grow.

Counting down to Kellys First Birthday Bash

The first thought that comes to my mind on Kellys first birthday bash is not to do it since she is too young to even know whats happening and she might even not like the long hours out, seeing so many people and the unfamiliar place. We had decided on Shanghai and Beijing for 2 weeks and it seems more interesting to cut her first cake overseas. The plan was thrashed due to the cold weather in China and the dust in Beijing.

Since we are going to stay in Singapore, why not a birthday bash since friends has been asking and people say 1st, 21st and 50th year old party is a must to commendate the growing stages. Mummy quickly decided on the venue, invitation list, food theme, etc and had confirmed most of the things by now, pending the attendance, how efficient can Mummy be!!!

Kellys first letter

Upon checking the big stacks of letters collected from the mailbox, i was surprised to see one attentioned to Kelly Yee. It is the first official letter or maybe should say birthday card sent to her from NTUC Income. Among with it were some vouchers. I was puzzled because the vouchers are not relevant at all to a one year old kid.
